Sharon is based at Bristol Zoo Gardens as the Head of Veterinary Services.

Sharon Redrobe qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 1994, obtaining an honours degree in Reproductive Physiology in addition to her Veterinary degree.

She has worked exclusively with exotic animal species for over ten years and holds the RCVS Certificate in Zoological Medicine.

Sharon has published widely on exotic animal matters and spoken at numerous national and international conferences. (see current speaking engagements and Current Publications)

Sharon is currently the Veterinary Officer at Bristol Zoological Gardens, responsible for the veterinary care of over 1,200 animals, covering some 350 species of birds, mammals, fish and invertebrates.

She set up the first UK zoo and exotic animal veterinary services at the University of Edinburgh before joining Bristol Zoo Gardens as full time staff veterinarian.

Sharon Redrobe holds an Honorary Lectureship in Veterinary Science at Bristol University

Sharon Redrobe is one of only 4 veterinarians within UK Zoo Federation who hold a full time staff position.
